Happy Birthday 2012

Happy birthday David! I would like to send you my best wishes in this special day and I hope that you will have plenty of them during the whole year.

You all know, that this web/blog is not the official one, but today it's a special date and for that reason I'm pleased to share with you two letters which will show the wishes and thoughts that Im quite sure that most of us will have when today we think about him.

The first one comes from the David Gandy's Russian fan club. These previous two days you have enjoyed the banners of the blog which were specially designed by them for this date. Thanks a lot for all your efforts and dedication during the last weeks and for the beautiful letter you have done.

Dear David!

On this special day we would like to wish you the most important things health and long years of intense and rich life filled with dreams and goals that sure will be achieved. Good success for attending all your efforts. May there always be kind and sincere people on the path of your life. And, of course, we want to wish you happiness, because this is what we all desire. We wish you true love, with its joys and deep emotions, burning passion understanding. Love that will inspire you, love that will be warming you the whole life.

Despite of all language barriers and our territorial distance, we are always up-to-date on your success and achievements. When you were running the marathon we were actually running along with you and empathizing you. We follow your blog and other journalist's activity, often reading you with a smile on our faces. When you start shooting for the next campaign, we are looking forward to your new photos and video which are always worth to see and it is impossible to get tired of them.. and surely it would be unfair dont say that we are eager to see you playing in full-length film.

Happy Birthday!

Fan-club "David Gandy".

And the second one comes from USA. Thanks a lot to Miss Fox for sharing this letter with us. Thanks  for finding so wonderful words to answer this question so difficult and so easy at the same time.

Why I love and admire David James Gandy

We all became acquainted with David Gandy through his modelling, which more or less made him a creature created by other people. He easily slipped into the role of chameleon and with his talent and good looks played roles, becoming whatever it took to create the illusion necessary to sell the products for which he was hired to sell.

Beginning in 2011 David began to emerge as the individual he really is. We learned so much about him through his Vogue blog and many interviews which began to show us the strength in his own persona and how he sees himself. David is not just another pretty face. David is very much a man among men. I personally like the throw-back to the gentlemen of the classic mid-century period. His idols were people like Frank Sinatra, Paul Newman and Tony Bennett, and Sammy Davis, Jr.; all men with whom I had the pleasure to work during my career as a publicist and all gentlemen whom he is very much like. David, today, has that kind of class and style and as I have recently learned is very much his own man. He has his own dominant personality and really knows how to create the David Gandy image and brand. David is, first and foremost, a gentleman. He cares about the world and the people and creatures in the world. He has a heart of gold, and is simply a kind man who cares about more than the very popular media image that we, his fans, have seen over the past ten years. How on earth did a man who is so gorgeous turn out to be a humanitarian rather than an ego maniac?

David is both playful and serious but what I like best is that he is naturally kind and does things like helping his elderly neighbor and people with whom he comes into contact who could use his assistance. He goes crazy to play with animals at Battersea Animal Shelter; and at the same time, works to make sure the creatures have good homes. When he gives his word, he will keep it even to his own detriment. Remember last April when he ran a marathon after having injured himself skiing? It took so much determination to run 26 miles while being in agony but remember that he finished? I personally could not have been prouder of him. He gave his word and had every justification to give up, but he finished. What a man!

I personally loved his performances of last year, especially Away We Stay and the Tribute; his athleticism, boxing and swimming. I loved the fact that David stayed in London during the riots last July or August to finish a great job of editing a magazine because he gave his word. He did an excellent job with that effort too. Is there anything he does not do well? David appears to be a loyal friend and co-worker; a class act in that he only sees and says good things about people even though there is always an opportunity to dish the dirt. I can't wait to get to know him and his work better, I'm so impressed with what he has shown me so far. In a world where there are so many selfish, materialistic celebrities, David Gandy is a standout and is an excellent role model for the youth of today to emulate. BRAVO! David Gandy you have accomplished so much in just 32 years. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Sunday February 19th and many more to come.

Much Love and Admiration,

Your Friend
Miss Fox
